History[]

Commissioned in Y169 as a replacement for the Constitution class USS Eagle which was destroyed defending an important Andorian colony the previous year. [1]

In early January Y169, while on its shakedown cruise, the Eagle encountered a second Juggernaut. She fought the Juggernaut twice finally destroying it at Arcturus.

After repairing damage from it battles the ship is assigned to the 4th Fleet.

On 1 Aug Y171 the ship was enroute to Starbase 13. In response to the Klingon invasion of the Federation the ship launched a number of raids against the Northeast Fleet, disrupting its offensive. [2]

After being heavily damaged in combat she was converted in Y176 to a Fast Fleet Scout.[3]

In Y177 during a raid behind Klingon lines she diverts to an unimportant asteroid field to complete its real mission, picking up a team of Hydran diplomats and engineers who are aboard the OPV Rocksmasher. (8CM70)
