History[]
In Y167 while on routine patrol near the junction of the Federation, Gorn, and Romulan borders the Lexington responds to the distress call of the GCS Reptilicon which is under attack by three Romulan Kestral-class cruisers. After entering Federation the Reptillicon is interned by the Lexington and assists in the fight against the pursuing forces resulting in the loss two of the pursuing ships. [1]
Received the "Plus" and "AWR" refits.
In late Y171, while on patrol near the Tholian border, the Lexington attempted to intercept a Klingon heavy cruiser carrying a klingon diplomat to the Romulan Empire. Despite their best efforts they were unable to stop the ship from linking up with the Romulan guard ship and the rest they say is history. [2]
On 4 Jan Y173 Commodore Stocker discovered the Romulans were within hours of launching a surprise attack on the Federation. Interpreting his orders to use his own discretion he launched an attack on the Romulan squadron that was stalking while they were unprepared to defend themselves. Three of the five Romulan ships were destroyed in the initial battle, and another during the pursuit of the Lexington as she fell back from the border. Unfortunately the Romulans managed to force the saucer to separate with the loss of the secondary hull. Rescued by Captain Sslith of the Reptillicon. [3]
The Lexington is presumed to have returned to service.
